Her everlasting passion towards her art and dedication has helped her grow not only professionally, but personally as well. Her experience and knowledge has taken her "Beauty is Skin deep", a saying that proves absolute in Dr.Nirmala Shetty's (Founder & Director, Nirmal Herbal) concept. It was her childhood passion that transformed her hobby to an idea, a unique brand Nirmal Herbal that aims at Healthy and Beautiful Skin & Hair. She stands out of competition in the beauty industry as Nirmal Herbal is one of its kinds to use "Food" as a cosmetic. Although in the corporate for 18 years, she envisioned a platform to combine simple ingredients from the kitchen to create astringents, cleansers, brighteners, scrubs to enhance Skin & Hair. With great results from her experiments, she moved on to her first center at Chembur in 1992. From there Nirmal Herbal grew complementing Dr.Nirmala Shetty's entrepreneurial skills. To validate her knowledge, Dr.Nirmala Shetty completed various courses in Naturopathy and Alternative Medicines. She is also a certified Health Coach, from Institute for Integrative Nutrition, NY, USA.
Her credentials started in the year 2002, serving as a Beauty Consultant for the Beauty Salon at The Hyatt Regency, Mumbai to her centers in Chembur, Bandra and Powai, writing articles for various popular publications like the erstwhile women's magazine, FEMINA, and other Times Group publications. She has also been featured in online portals and leading newspapers such as, THE BOMBAY TIMES, MID-DAY, INDIAN EXPRESS, etc. She has officially treated Miss India International and Miss India World for their hair and trained them to pursue natural products made at home Dr.Nirmala Shetty's success was supplemented by Ms Sushmita Sen, Former Miss Universe, to work with her as the Official Hair Expert" on the panel of the IAM SHE Miss India Universe Pageant. She grooms aspiring participants to maintain the healthy hair balancing the effects of styling for the pageant.
Dr.Nirmala Shetty was nominated as the "Spa Personality of the Year" at the Asia Spa Awards 2012 held in Hong Kong. Nirmal Herbal was recognized and awarded by Brands Research Academy as the "Best Herbal Clinic & Spa in whole of Maharashtra in 2011 & 2012. In 2013, Nirmal Herbal was awarded the "Global HealthCare Excellency Award for the Best Herbal Clinic, Salon & Spa" in Maharashtra.
Her participation in the Serial Beauty Mantra with actress Lisa Ray which was telecasted in U.S.A and U.K has helped her create a huge clientele abroad. Dr. Shetty's was invited on various television channels to share her knowledge and expertise, her recent show being Simply Baatein with Raveena, was aired on the newly launched tv channel Sony Pal. The show featured questions on Beauty & Hair that would reach out to every Indian home maker, to take care of her skin and hair at home, the natural way.
"Beauty at your Fingertips" is a holistic book penned by Dr. Shetty, that contains her life time creation of natural recipes for Skin, Hair & Body.
