Dr. Hansaji Yogendra

Dr. Hansaji Yogendra is currently the Director of The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, the world's oldest organised Yoga center, which is stepping into its 100th year. She is also the Chairperson of Yoga Certification Committee for Quality Council of India (QCI) and President of International Board of Yoga. She is the leading face of householder Yoga and has conducted over 1,00,000 theoretical and practical sessions of Yoga till date.

Transforming lives of millions, her significant contributions in areas like Yoga education, research, experiential learning, standardisation of Yoga practices has been widely recognized.

Well-known for her oratory skills and popular amongst the national and international Yoga fraternity, she delivers her talks in multiple languages.

Dr. Hansaji has been selected as Woman of the Year in the year 2000 by the American Biographical Institute, USA for her outstanding accomplishments.

Renowned as the First Lady of Yoga, she made the nation proud by sharing the stage alongside Prime Minister ShriNarendraModiji at the first International Day of Yoga in New Delhi.

Since 2015, she continues to be on the advisory board committee to give her expertise to celebrate the International Day of Yoga worldwide.

The Open International University for Complimentary Medicines in association with The Zoroastrian College conducted under the auspices of the ALL INDIA SHAH BEHRAM BAUG SOCIETY (for Scientific & Educational Research) An NGO in Special Consultative Status with the UNITED NATIONS Economic & Social Council conferred Smt. HansajiJayadevaYogendra with Doctorate of Philosophy (Phd) given at Colombo on 3rd Feb 2018

Recently, June 2018 recognising and honouring the philanthropic work done under Dr. Hansaji Yogendra's guidance, The Yoga Institute won the prestigious PM's award for spreading the yoga goodness to all since 1918.

She has played a pivotal role in making significant changes in the Central Government's policies to further the cause of Yoga awareness and spread the message of holistic health for the well-being of humanity.

She has authored and co-authored over 50 books of which Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, How to Reverse Heart Disease, Pregnancy, Parenthood are quitepopular. Social Service Initiatives for welfare of society under her leadership has touched upon thousands of lives for the better.
