Dr. Hansaji Yogendra is currently the Director of The Yoga Institute, Mumbai, the world‟s oldest organised Yoga center. She is also the Chairperson of Yoga Certification Committee for Quality Council of India (QCI); President of International Board of Yoga; and Senior Vice President International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT). She is the leading face of householder Yoga and has conducted over 1,00,000 theoretical and practical sessions of Yoga till date.

Renowned as the First Lady of Yoga, she made the nation proud by sharing the stage alongside Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji at the first International Day of Yoga in New Delhi.

Recognising and honouring the philanthropic work done under Dr. Hansaji Yogendra‟s guidance, The Yoga Institute won the prestigious PM's award for spreading the yoga goodness to all in June 2018.

Hon‟ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has felicitated The Yoga Institute, Mumbai with the Prime Minister's Award for Outstanding Contribution for Promotion and Development of Yoga for the year 2018-19. The prestigious award was presented in the category of "National Institute‟ at a special ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan 30 August 2019. In recognition of the honour, the Prime Minister applauded the Institute standards set for yoga education, research, publication, innovation and creativity.

Bharat Gaurav award honours given to Dr. Hansaji Yogendra for extraordinary contribution and excellence in the field of yoga. The honours were conferred at the UK House of Commons in British Parliament in London on July 19th, 2019 by Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha

Smt. Hansaji Yogendra is the celebrated presenter of the popular television series Yoga for Better Living which was telecast thrice, repeatedly. She has also been expert yoga presenter for the Yoga Sutra program aired on ZEE TV across the globe in 162 countries.

The yoga education syllabus formulated by The Yoga Institute for the schools in India has implemented by NCERT, BMC schools, University of Mumbai and benefited lakhs of students.

The Caring Heart on the Reversal of Heart Disease, - the Yogic Way, a benchmark research project was conducted at The Yoga Institute. It proved to the medical world that heart disease could be treated through Yogic lifestyle leading to reversal in coronary artery disease.

She has authored and co-authored over 50 books of which Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, How to Reverse Heart Disease, Pregnancy, Parenthood are quite popular.

Dr. Hansaji has undertaken many social service initiatives for the betterment of society and transforming lives of millions.

Hundreds of BMC schools over the decades have been provided with Yoga education under her guidance. Khar Pupils School, Indian Education Society, New English School (Kherwadi), etc. to name a few.

In association with Majlis Legal Centre for oppressed women, Share Foundation, Rescue foundation she is focused on protecting the rights of the girl child and create an equal and safe world.

Free Mass Community Yoga programmes where people in huge numbers gather to practice Yoga in open places like Yoga by The Bay, Reach Out Equal Street and Happy Street, Maharashtra Yoga Mahotsav etc. Also, Food Fest and Harmony Festivals curated to benefit the masses.

Khet Asana is a specially curated programme for farmers that can be included as a part of their daily routine for holistic health. Khet Aasana across 2,000 Indian rural villages will benefit more than 120,000 farmers. Also, Truckasana designed to benefit lakhs of drivers each year. To take care of Mumbai‟s lifeline "Mumbai Dabbawalas," a customised programme for Dabbawalas will benefit thousands.

Yoga for Prisoners programme helps in rehabilitation of offenders serving time in Jail such as the Dongri Juveniles, David Sassoon, Byculla Jail, etc.

Hansaji has been working to empower slum inhabitants and the most marginalised communities especially women and children suffering from exploitation, abuse, HIV, AIDS, etc.

Annam Brahma initiative- Institute is serving healthy breakfast to over 700 hungry and needy people. The food distribution regimen is efficient throughout 365 days a year.

Various health care programmes for commando force and the Government employees of departments like Rajbhavan, Mantralaya, Excise department, University of Mumbai, Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Police, Western Railways and many more benefit lakhs each year.
