Swami Shantatmananda is a senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order and is well known as an able administrator and spiritual mentor. He presently heads the Delhi centre of the Ramakrishna Mission.

He had a long stint of 30 years at the international Headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, where he had the rare privilege of association with some of the luminaries of the Order. At Belur Math, he exercised his expertise in the areas of financial administration and fund management. He was also closely associated with some of the pioneering staff welfare schemes.

Swami Shantatmananda was a pioneering influence in setting up an NGO in the suburbs of Kolkata, called Sarada Seva Sangha, which is managed by more than one hundred trained women volunteers. It happens to be one of his exceptional achievements in the area of Women's Empowerment, which is a developmental area close to his vision of Nation-Building.

He is deeply committed to the spreading of value education amongst the youth, especially the school and college students. He has been closely associated with the development of a number of insightful programmes on value education, all based on the man-making and character-building ideas of Swami Vivekananda. He has been a member of some of the high-powered committees of the Govt. of NCR Delhi, CBSE, etc. and has been invited to speak by various schools, colleges, Universities, Apex organizations, Corporates, Financial Institutions, Govt. bodies, PSU's, Religious and Cultural organizations, etc. Presently, under his leadership the Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi has launched a nation-wide three year graded value education programme for schools which is presently being implemented in more than 3,700 schools across the country.

He is passionately involved in interfaith dialogue leading to closer understanding between different faiths and is deeply committed to peace initiatives all over the globe. Swami Shantatmananda has visited Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Russia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, South Africa, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, USA, Taiwan, Norway, Sweden and Finland on lecture tours and international conferences. He has also been visiting many cities in India on invitation to give lectures on different spiritual topics.

Swami Shantatmananda was instrumental in devising programmes telecast over CNN-IBN and Doordarshan's National Channel in propagating the life-giving message of Swami Vivekananda among the youth. He also organized a unique World Peace Conference in New Delhi which was inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

He is deeply interested in sports and music. He writes regularly for Sunday Guardian and occasionally for Speaking Tree (Times of India) and other publications.
